Second Shots and First Bites

Today was a big day for Sydney-to start off the day, she went to her 4 month checkup at Dr. Chris's office. The shots made her scream really loud for a few seconds, but that's about it. We found out that she now weighs 13 lb, 14 ounces; and is over 25 inches long. This puts her into the 55th percentile for weight, 90th percentile for height. In her doctor's words, she is "tall and lean, and that's what we'd all like to be" :) Also, she has a big head...80th percentile in that category!

Tonight, Sydney had her first taste of real food (if you can call it that). Rice cereal was not Sydney's favorite, so we'll continue to work on that. Below, you can see pictures that highlight this exciting event!

And here are two videos of this new experience. (One "major motion picture" according to Jeff and a short version below).

Happy 4 Months!

Today, our precious Sydney Grace turns 4 months old. Lately, she has really started to enjoy "reading" (or looking as we read to her.) She looks at/feels/holds her books for several minutes at a time. Her favorite book is "Fuzzy Bee and Friends," given to her by her friend Jane Marie, who is studying abroad in England this semester. She also likes her book "Dogs," that her Daddy picked out.

Sydney has spent the last few days with her Grandpa and Nana, who came to visit us Sunday-Tuesday. She loves to have her grandparents visit, especially when they hold her and entertain her at all times :)

She likes taking naps with her Grandpa...

and watching the doggies play with her Nana.

Lately, she has also discovered her toes and feet, and loves to play with them. :) Happy 4 months to Sydney Grace, our gift from God. We are so blessed to have you as our daughter!

Sydney and Lilly meet again

Sydney says Happy Birthday to her "Papaw!" We all three enjoyed meeting Jeff's entire family at Outback for dinner today to celebrate Papaw's birthday.

She also enjoyed hanging out with her new cousin Lilly for the first time (other than the hospital). Lillian Grace Cooper was born on September 11, 2007.

Sydney loves tailgating, football and friends

Today was a very fun day for Mrs. Sydney Grace, and us too! After spending the moring at home, she enjoyed tailgating with her closest friends, Avery Linn (11 months) and Simon Basham (8 1/2 months). Jeff and I enjoyed our time with the Bashams, Linns, Ben, and Mitch.

Watching Daddy (and Mitch) play Cornhole was fun :)
She also loved "watching" her WKU Hilltoppers beat the Colonels from EKU.

Look who we met in the concourse at halftime:

AND, tonight Sydney got to "play" with Avery Nicole again. We love anytime we get to spend a fun day with the Linn's and today was a very special day!

Sydney's Cousin Lilly is born.

Sydney's cousin Lillian Grace Cooper was born today at 9:50 in Lexington, Ky. She is the daughter of the proud parents Tim and April Cooper (my sister and brother-in-law). She weighed 8 lbs and 15 oz and was 20 inches in length. Congratulations to Tim and April!! Sydney looks forward to many fun times in the near future as they grow up together.

Sydney loves TV

For the past few days, we have noticed Sydney turning her head toward the television when it's on. Below are some pictures from today of her watching "Power Lunch" :) on CNBC with daddy.

And here's the real bad news...at less than 3 1/2 months old, (in the video below) see her reaction if we get in the way of her view!

Sydney's Labor Day Weekend Fun

Sydney has enjoyed spending her first Labor Day weekend at home. On Saturday, she turned 14 weeks old and her Nana and Grandpa came to visit and we enjoyed grilling out and just spending time outside since the weather has finally cooled down a bit.

On Sunday, after church, the girls went to the mall, and the boys played golf. Today, for Labor Day, Sydney went to lunch at Red Lobster before her grandparents left for home, and later today, she will go to her 2nd pool party with our friends from church.

Tomorrow, it will be back to work for Mom and Dad and back to have fun at Sarah's for Sydney Grace.

She likes long weekends with her family :)
