11 months!

"Gemini: May 22-June 21
I'm curious and mischievous...I will be a great talker...love to keep you guessing... smart, active, inquisitive."

This description found on Sydney's shirt pretty much describes our precious 11 month old girl!

We have really enjoyed Sydney Grace's development and blossoming personality in the past month. She is a social butterfly :) She still likes to play peekaboo, clap, and she is still waving to everyone she sees. She has found that everyone tells her how cute she is and makes over her when she waves at them, so she just waves more and more. She is really into laughing and smiling big, as she shows off her 6 teeth! Every night as she's going to bed, after story and prayer time, she stands up in her bed (at the end closest to the door) and waves to us as we leave. This has happened every single night for about 3 weeks now. She has added MAMA!!!! and No! and ByeBye to her growing list of "words." She says Dog anytime she sees a dog, or another animal :). She is pulling up on everything, and has started "cruising" on the furniture in the past couple of weeks. She is very BUSY, and is still into exploring, but has become more interested in her toys over the past couple of weeks...especially her ball popper! (She is playing with it right now with Daddy!) Of course, she is still crawling and likes to carry (or drag) her Curious George with her sometimes as she does. She has long conversations with herself and us while she's in the backseat of the car or in the stroller. She is a pig....and eats anything we'll let her try. The only "new food" she's not fond of is mashed potatoes. She has officially outgrown the Jumperoo, and does not want to play in it anymore. Her favorite toys right now are the ball popper, books, Musical Table, and she has actually started using her walker to help her walk (pictures coming soon on that) instead of just playing with the balls.

We had breakfast at Steak n Shake this morning and she enjoyed wearing their hat!

Sydney's first taste of meat...a steak n shake steakburger, and a Sydney wave too! Sorry the photo had to be so graphic for you to share in this special first bite moment :)

This picture should have been of Sydney making her hand and footprints on the flower pot she made for Mommy today at the Paint n' Place. However a waving photo from outside the studio will have to do since it took all three of us to (Mommy, Daddy, and the lady working) to "help" her make the artwork :)

Weekend trip

This weekend, we headed to Georgetown for some fun family time :)

Sydney stayed very busy all weekend, trying to squeeze as much into 2 days as a 10 month old possibly could!

On Friday, she celebrated Aunt April's birthday for breakfast at Cracker Barrel, and got to visit with Uncle Tim, and cousin Lilly too.

She spent the rest of the day with Granny and Papaw, and also got to play with her cousins Makayla, Trace, and Lilly Grace.

On Friday night, she got to attend the Scott Co. Chamber Banquet, where her Grandpa received special recognition. We were very proud of her (and grandpa)! Everyone commented on how cute, of course :)..and well behaved Sydney she was. She was, by far, the youngest member of the 450+ in attendance.

To the banquet, Sydney and Mommy wore (almost) matching outfits.

On Saturday, she visited her great grandparents in West Virginia. She had lots of fun playing with her Nanny. (Check out all those teeth!)

Sydney at the Grand Ole Opry (and on National TV!!!)

Sydney was here...

Last night was Sydney's first trip to the Grand Ole Opry. She got to enjoy the singing and dancing, and she also loved waving, clapping and playing peekaboo with other audience members.

One highlight of the night was Sydney Grace making the live telecast of the Opry, on GAC (Great America Country) network!!!! You can see a clip from the show below, and if you get the GAC network at home, the live show from last night will be replayed tonight at 6 pm (7 pm eastern time), and also on Tuesday at 7pm (8pm eastern time). If you get a chance, you can check her out there!

New favorite hobbies

Although Sydney has been able to pull up for a couple of months, lately we've been seeing a whole lot more of this...

Time to watch Daddy and Topper outside

Time for bed, or not?!?!

Time to look for toys :)

And...guess what toy has been Sydney's favorite lately?

I guess the ball popper is scary only until you reach the big milestone of 10 months :)

Happy Spring!
