As most of you know, we are in between houses right now...old one is sold, new one still being built. We are about 2 weeeks into our ~5week stay at the Candlewood Suites in BG.
For Jeff and I, it is not the ideal situation, but we are making the best of it and having a fun time being there. It is also a big relief to know that our home is sold, and that our contractor is moving ahead with the new house every day.
The kids are doing great. JJ is his normal happy self, and Sydney (who calls Candlewood "home!") loves being there. She is so excited everytime we get close, she says "home!" "home!"..... The other day we drove by our old house and she said "I don't wanna go home." Her love for the hotel probably has something to do with the nice indoor pool that she has been taking advantage of.
Many of you have asked us recently just how it is to live in a hotel room with four people with two of them being < or = to 2!. So, here are some pictures of how life is going at the hotel.
They've found a way to play together in the play gym. Can you tell how much he adores her? :)
He plays with some of the pool toys while we watch her swim. She gets to go almost every day since it is just down the hall.
The hotel is fairly crowded, but mostly with business people in town for the week. She always has the whole pool to herself.

JJ at his first football game this Saturday. He enjoyed it...and even caught the eye of the camera crew from WKYU and made it onto the jumbo tron for several seconds! Sydney had a blast eating popcorn and a hot dog, running around and watching the band. Neither one of them cares that our Toppers are horrible :)

JJ turned 5 months old on Thursday! He is gaining more strength all the time and preparing those muscles for all that crawling he'll be ready for in a few short months. He has started to roll and did so a bit later than his big sister....but this big boy also has MORE to roll over, you know!! He is laughing out loud which is so sweet to hear. His hair is also making a comeback and seems to be lighter the 2nd time around...just like hers was.
He continues to adore his big sister, and she is really taking more notice of him lately too. She likes to entertain him as she plays and does her thing, and he loves to watch. Sometimes she even slows down enough from her business :) to talk to him or give him a kiss.

We are only a couple of days away from selling and moving out of our house. It has been a wonderful home for over 7 years. Jeff and I have been living here since August of 2002. Then, we were still working to gain the education we wanted. At that time, neither of us had a career, a church family, or our two precious children. My, how HE has blessed us during this time.
We have loved living here and would not be moving if we didn't desire more space. (Jeff used to laugh at me because I told him I never wanted to move.) The space we are gaining will be very nice for the two of us and the two blessings who came in May '07 and April '09. But, we welcomed both of them home here...Sydney had first giggles, steps and words here. JJ has learned to flash that smile so often and has (lately) started rolling here.
Both of us are very excited about the house we are building, and hopeful that we will get the chance to build very special memories there too. I'm sure it will feel like home before too long. But there is a just a bit of sadness - for two of us anyway :)...as we pack up and prepare to walk away from this special house that has, indeed, become a special home.

The blog entries have been few and far between lately...we are in a very busy stretch right now as we have gotten a contract on our house and are in the midst of the (essentially) 2 week period that we have to pack up and get out.
Over Labor Day weekend, Jeff and I took a trip to Knoxville to be a part of a crowd we have always wanted to be a part of....the 100,000 + that fill Neyland Stadium on fall game days.
Even though our Toppers are only beginning to build our I-A program, and the final score showed that reality, this meeting between our guys and the Vols was the perfect opportunity to check this destination off our "list."
Sydney and JJ say a big thanks to Nana and Buddy who came to watch them for the two days we were gone. They both had a great time being spoiled by their grandparents.
