Family Fun Day

Saturday evening we attended Family Fun Day with WKU Football.

Family Fun Day offers many options, but our two were most interested in trying out the inflatables!  They tried out three of them, but spent the most time in the princess bouncy.
Luke wasn't too thrilled to see Big Red.
What happened to my sweet smiling baby?
(Maybe if I close my eyes and turn my head, he will go away) :)

Great time at Family Fun Day and now ...Football season is here!

Birthday Visit

Granny and Papaw came to visit us last Saturday for Daddy's birthday.

Shortly after they arrived in BG, we took off for Plano Elementary!  Sydney has been asking to take JJ there to play on her playground, and this proved to be a great time for her to show off her school to her grandparents too!
It was only about 10:00 or 10:30...but already HOT!

A slide for three...perfect!

Everyone enjoyed checking it out, and I think Sydney was proud to show all of us!
This is the door where we drop her off every day...
And she wanted one picture of "just me" with Granny & Papaw.
After we left, we went to lunch for Jeff's birthday at Olive Garden, and then came home so the kids could play on the waterslide.  It was a great visit and a great day!

Day for 3

Two days before our big girl started Kindergarten, Daddy and I took her to Holiday World.  We had a full day to enjoy rides and slides and quality time together with our firstborn!
It was a wonderful day that we filled with special memories.

"Only" Child

We've had a few Tuesday/Thursdays in the past couple weeks
when Lukey has been the only child at home with Mommy.

Of course, my favorite times are when they are all 3 here,
but I will say this has been such a sweet time with my baby boy!

I think he's enjoyed his short time of being the "only child."

AND... when you are the only child, you can carry around and play with 2 balls!!!!

You are really excited about this, because if your siblings were home,
they probably wouldn't even "allow" you to play with one of them.

You also get to pick out which toy you ride, and no one is waiting to talk you off of it either!

You can stop and sit as long as you want on that bench you love on the front porch
and Mommy has plenty of time to sit and admire you while taking photos :)

You also get to go out to lunch at fun places that Mommy and Daddy would not be going with the whole crew.

You get to play with any toy you choose.  And this is very rare when you are the baby of three babies...but you get all the attention!!!

This also gives Mommy a chance to focus on how amazing you really are!

Indeed, you are so much fun!

Blessed to hang out with you!  I'll miss you tomorrow, sweet buddy.

Daddy's Birthday Weekend

My husband caught me at 34 on Friday, and we've had a great weekend celebrating!

I'm so glad we had the chance to spend special time with our kids, his parents, and even on a date by ourselves :)!

Jeff- Not sure if you have thought about this yet...but I realized last week that we have now celebrated 17 birthdays together-half our lives!

Much love from your fan club...these three and their photographer too!

(Sorry, had to put the last one in...taking photos of three = never easy!)

Sydney's First Homework Assignment

This was her rehearsal the night before it was due.

And below is her first project, from the first day.  It made me tear up....of course, everything made me tear up that day :)

Backyard Bible

Four nights in mid July, we hosted an onsite backyard bible club at church.  Backyard Bible Clubs are similar to VBS-just more outreach and entire family oriented.  I got to attend the first two nights with our crew, and the kids and Jeff attended the third night as well.

The kickoff night was a concert with Randall Goodgame (Slugs & Bugs).  The kids really enjoyed it...Luke was running all over the place and at one point crawled onto the stage before Daddy could scoop him up.  We love this little man so much...but I'm telling you-he is wearing us out!  I had to post that picture of me and him above because it reminded me so much of JJ at that age.

Starting with the second night, they had play and snacktime,
followed by teaching, singing and crafts.

Our babysitter Taylor was there, and she helped with them with their crafts.  They love her.
On this night, the theme was "God Sees Me, God Loves Me."
They crack me up.

Thankful for fun times together, learning more about Jesus.

Side by Side

They have grown to love doing everything side by side.
Bouncing & sliding
Snacking & being silly
Resting together too
Packing school supplies
Feeding the ducks

"Building" bears & hanging together at church

Swimming and laughing
Sharing a slush (after a day at the pool)
One day she picks the flavor-the next day, it's his turn.
They love it that way.
Bath time
Craft time
Side by side.  All the time.
Until... one is off to kindergarten.

Needless to say, it has been a HUGE adjustment for him.

And, when she leaves the van like this morning...he calls after her saying "love you sweetheart."

Makes me smile and breaks my heart at the same time.

We sure have been having fun, me and the boys.
Walks and bike rides, books & movies.
Lunch dates with Daddy, and trips to the pool.

It must be cool (yet weird) for JJ because he's the boss.  He names it, we play it.
No sharing, no turn taking, and even more attention.

Well, I think he kind of likes it at times...yet would trade it in a heartbeat

His favorite part of the day??  When it's time to see his Sydney again!

First Time

Daddy made him wear a helmet at first.  I guess he didn't trust the driver.
Wish I knew what JJ was "teaching" him here.

 Sweet, fun boys.

Summer Crew 2012

Sadly, summer is just about in the books.  School's back in.  Shorter days.  Work starts again soon.  And the pool won't be open (or warm enough!) too much longer.

I've had the chance to post about many of the fun things we've done this summer...but one thing I haven't posted is a picture of our summer crew at the pool.

Many of my fondest memories of this summer came from days spent with 5 kiddos (and LeAnn) at the pool.
Tried to get all five, however, one of the five is much too busy these days to stop for photos, and was running to the waterslide when I was taking this picture.  He has been obsessed with the waterslide.

Just as soon as he goes down and hits the water, his pal Anslee waits to help him get to the side so he can gp do it again.  All the kids have become even closer over the summer-Anslee and Luke included.  The other day for a school assignment, Anslee had to tell her one wish.  Her one wish??  She wanted "a baby brother like Luke."  So sweet.

Reflecting and treasuring our pool days...even when keeping up with 5 sweet ones was madness!
