Thanksgiving Fun

We had beautiful weather leading up to Thanksgiving!  On the day before turkey day,
we took the kids to a place they love in Georgetown...Evans Orchard.  It was the last day they
were open for the season...and we went for lunch and to play.

The best part of our visit there was that everyone got to go!  It was a great time.

That night, we went to Southern Lights at the Kentucky Horse Park.  It was fun to ride around and look at the lights and then we went inside to check out the decorations and the petting zoo.
Santa was there too, but the kids were not interested in seeing him.  Sydney is still kind of scared of him, and I think JJ is a little too.
JJ wanted to wear one of Buddy's hats. :)
Luke did not like the camels!
A great day!

JJ's Program

The week before Thanksgiving, JJ's school had their annual Celebration of Faithfulness.  Each class, age 2-high school, performed a song or skit.  JJ had been talking about his program for a few weeks...he kept telling us that he was going to sing loud because his teacher told him to.  The funny part was, when we asked him what he was going to sing, he had no idea :)

We knew that he would not sing.

We were absolutely wrong.

In fact, he sang very loud, and did a great job!  He was proud of himself and (for a few days) kept asking us when he could do his program again.  Way to go buddy!

Hide and Seek

Look how many "seekers" I get to play with now!

This is the counting spot :)  They almost always want me to hide so they can seek.

My seems like just yesterday that Sydney was teaching JJ
where to stand & just the 2 of them would come to find me.

Silly Turkeys

Silly & funny,

Silly & sweet,
Silly & happy
 Silly & joyful
 Carefree too...
And this turkey...
 the littlest one...
well, he may just be the silliest of them all!

 Happy Thanksgiving!

Time to Decorate

Today, we decorated for Christmas!
This was JJ's first year to fully participate and he loved it.  Luke "helped" a little but then it was his naptime :)  I let JJ and Sydney hang all of the ornaments, unless they asked one of us for help.
I think they did a pretty good job!
Jeff and I have never been big on (especially) outside decorations, but with kids we have tried to step it up a bit here in the last couple years...nativity blow up, porch trees, and a few lights in the shrubs.  Certainly not Opryland north, but Sydney and JJ love it and that is what matters.  I might even get really crazy and purchase a wreath this week :)

Tonight, Sydney wanted to drive around and look at other decorations and Daddy thought he was
so funny as he told her that we would have to wait b/c no one else decorates as early as Mommy.
Jeff-you know you loved spending your mid November Saturday afternoon with
trees, lights, storage boxes and crazy (wife &) kids!

Let the Thanksgiving Celebrations Begin

Today, we celebrated Thanksgiving with lunch at Sydney at her school.  It was a lot of fun to go as a whole family to eat with her.  Jeff and the boys and I have been seperately, but this was our first time to go as a complete crew.  She loved it!

Tonight, we had our annual Thanksgiving dinner with our small group families.  This was the kids table.
 Hi silly turkey!

Looking forward to the week ahead and Thanksgiving celebration with Jeff's family, mine, and our own crew back at home next weekend.

Library Story Time

About a month ago, the boys and I tried Preschool Story Time at the library on a Friday morning.  We had not been to this since Sydney was younger than JJ.

I thought it might be something we would do every now and then, BUT JJ loves it!
We haven't missed a week since.
He starts asking me on Monday or Wednesday when it is time to go back to the library.

Each week, they read 3 or 4 books aloud, sing a few songs, and make a craft.

I do not have pictures of the reading time because both boys sit in my lap :)
Here they are during craft time.

Before we leave, they love to play on the touchscreen computers.
Of course, Luke has no idea what he is doing, but JJ does well.

We always pick out a few books to take home with us too.
Gad we found something JJ loves so much & it's become a special time for Mommy and her boys!

JJ is thriving!  We are so excited for him....I just had to share this video of him doing his ABC's.  He has been doing this for the past few months and I should have captured sooner.

It was only a little over a year ago that we had grown more concerned and insisted on starting him in speech therapy.  Um....not needed any longer!!!

Here is his silly version of ABC's.

Tomorrow night, he has a program at his school and keeps telling us he is going to sing loud.  We will see!

Big Boys Night

Tonight was our home opener in basketball and Jeff took JJ while the girls and Luke stayed at home.  JJ had a big time and was so excited that he got the first turn this season.  I was happy for him!
I could have sworn it was just yesterday that he was scared of Big Red?!
Thanks Shane or Zach (um, I mean Big Red) for always
being so good to my kids when you are around.

I've been waiting to meet a special someone for a long time now-and tonight I got my wish.

This sweet little boy officially became a part of the Graham family last week
and at 4 1/2 years of age, he's finally home.

He loves frogs and baths so I took him this hooded frog towel :)

I think he likes it.  He liked my lasagna too!

Thankful for the power of the gospel revealed through adoption.
I love him, and can't wait to see him and his whole crew again Friday.

School Party

"Jessie" had her class party on Halloween Day during the last hour of school.

I was excited to get Buzz and Woody dressed and ready to go party with her.

     To infinity...and beyond!

Her classmates were all cute in their costumes, and Sydney was so excited for us to be there.

Buzz was obsessed with the "trick or treat station."

I was thrilled that I could be there to enjoy with all three of them...but most thankful for my sweet girl and her willingness to share with her brothers.  At first, JJ did not get to "trick or treat" because the room mom was making sure there was enough candy (?) SG decided he should get to fill her bag instead of doing it herself.  She told him they could share the candy.  She tells me "Mommy, I want JJ to fill the bag, because I get to have fun here all the time.  I want him to have fun at my school too."
He also did not get a cupcake and she immediately gave him half (they were minature cupcakes).  She also shared her juice box with JJ and popcorn with Lukey.  I don't even ask her to.  I am thankful for her unselfish attitude.  Proud of the whole Toy Story crew!
And after school was over, we hit church for Trunks of Treats and our pictures of these events-we were freezing and (Jeff was) chasing Buzz everywhere.

One of our favorite fall traditions is going to Jackson's Orchard to play and pick out our pumpkins.
In mid October, we caught a perfect weather Friday and headed out right after school.  We stayed until they closed and enjoyed watching our three slide, run & play.  After many years of visiting, this was our first time to go to Jackson's on a non festival day...and I sure don't know why because it was great!!!  They never had to wait for any of the things they wanted to do.

                                              Could this sweet face be
                                                         any cuter?
Um....he's a little rotten too!!!

Have to say, he was not exactly into sitting still for a photo :)

This little boy was really the lucky one because he got to
return the very next day for a birthday party!
I'm a spring and summer person...but
really treasure some of our fabulous fall traditions like Jackson's!

Girl's Day

Yesterday was a very exciting day...and not because it was Election Day.
It was exciting because I was off work, and Sydney was out of school.
We love our boys so much but were extremeley pumped for....

We made our plan over the weekend.  We needed to make a couple of stops like
the post office & voting, but most of the plans for the day belonged to her.
We got our tickets for Polar Express, created a masterpiece :) at the Paint n Place, shopped for a special Christmas ornament & rode the horses at the mall.

We did allow one boy named Daddy to meet us for lunch at her favorite restaurant.

Then, I offered to take her to get her nails done, but she chose shopping at Target and Kroger instead.  We made a pit stop at home and did a fun homework assignment for school-which is still so exciting to her.

Then-she was ready to go and get JJ early from school.
She wanted to go to Chuck E Cheese and did not want him to miss.
(So sweet, and also funny...she did not want Luke early-she knows he is a wild man!)

Of course, they had a blast!

It sure was a special day!

Loving Your Age

3 1/2
You are the sweetest little boy.
You are so much fun-full of words, hugs & laughter.
You are the early riser at our house & the highlight of my morning is seeing your big smile 1st thing!
I love to hear you sing songs, and spend time with you reading books or playing outside.
"Scratch my back" & "I made this craft for you"-two things you say a lot!
You love playing with Sydney, painting and helping mommy.
You also love going to church, chickfila and football games
You have a bed full of stuffed animals and a heart full of love.
I adore you
21 months
You are my precious baby!
I love hearing your new words and little "songs",  ("and me")
Recently, you have decided you are Mommy's boy :)
You are constantly on the move and try your best to keep up with SG and JJ.
You have no fear and my fear is you will be the one who makes our family frequent visitors at the ER
Cuts and scrapes do not slow you down at all, and usually don't even bring tears are my picky eater.  I do believe I've spoiled you a bit!
You love playgrounds, making messes and are a mickey mouse boy.
I love to watch you dance, clap and laugh.
I just love being your mommy

5 1/2
My big girl!
You are learning so much so quickly and loving your new experiences at school.
I still miss you every single day and wonder when I'll get used to our new "normal."
I love to watch you play soccer, hear about your days and listen to you read.
Oh, how I cherish the fact that you write "I love Mommy" on every paper you color!
You love when we come to eat lunch with you and playing with your friends
You also love princesses...and you are undoubtedly ours!
JJ calls you sunshine and sweetheart :)
Both brothers look up to you so much-I am blessed that you were first!
So thankful for my girl.

You are all so special, so beautiful (handsome).
I love your age(s) but the one thing I wish I could change is how very fast you are growing up!
