We got our wish Sunday night into Monday as a big storm dumped 10 inches on Bowling Green.
The roads have been awful. The temperatures on Wednesday and Thursday hit record lows, well under 0. Their schools have been closed all week and WKU has been too. Jeff was home with us for the first couple of days. It has been a great family week.
I have so enjoyed watching them have fun in the snow because I know how rare this is for us. It has been over 50 years since Bowling Green received this much snow in one day......which means the likelihood of this happening again while they are little isn't too great.
The snow was very fluffy but we were able to build a small snowman.
They sampled the snow,
wrote in the snow,
and buried themselves (and favorite stuffed animals) too.
They had so much fun.
We had so much fun.
Of course, sledding was a priority....
It's also been a great week to have indoor fun.
We made snow creme for the first time and it was a hit.
We've also spent many many hours playing games together.
This little boy has become a wiz at Monopoly.
I have been overwhelmed with thankfulness this week--- to have had this time with them all at home. They did not care that the four of us didn't leave the house for 5 days. Actually after those 5 days when we were needing to make a run to Kroger (and Chickfila!), they didn't want to go. They just loved playing in the snow, and then inside fun too ....games, Xbox, crafts, helping me in the kitchen.
When we were outside, I would look at other yards on our street with no
footprints, and then look at our own. I sure love those footprints....
and I'm very aware that one day I will be missing them dearly.
