We got our wish Sunday night into Monday as a big storm dumped 10 inches on Bowling Green.

The roads have been awful.  The temperatures on Wednesday and Thursday hit record lows, well under 0.  Their schools have been closed all week and WKU has been too. Jeff was home with us for the first couple of days.  It has been a great family week.

I have so enjoyed watching them have fun in the snow because I know how rare this is for us.  It has been over 50 years since Bowling Green received this much snow in one day......which means the likelihood of this happening again while they are little isn't too great.

The snow was very fluffy but we were able to build a small snowman.
They sampled the snow,

wrote in the snow,
and buried themselves (and favorite stuffed animals) too.

They had so much fun.
We had so much fun.
Of course, sledding was a priority....
It's also been a great week to have indoor fun.
We made snow creme for the first time and it was a hit.
We've also spent many many hours playing games together.
This little boy has become a wiz at Monopoly.
I have been overwhelmed with thankfulness this week--- to have had this time with them all at home.  They did not care that the four of us didn't leave the house for 5 days.  Actually after those 5 days when we were needing to make a run to Kroger (and Chickfila!), they didn't want to go.  They just loved playing in the snow, and then inside fun too, Xbox, crafts, helping me in the kitchen.
When we were outside, I would look at other yards on our street with no
footprints, and then look at our own.  I sure love those footprints....
and I'm very aware that one day I will be missing them dearly.

Valentine Parties

School Valentine parties are a big deal right now for all three of our kiddos.

They love having us come to celebrate with them and we are blessed that we can go.
Luke hits up the best of the treats from his party and then both of their classrooms.

They all three had a great Valentine's Day and that means we did too.
The next day, we celebrated Buddy's birthday with him here at home after their basketball games.
It was a great weekend...and little did we realize that their wish for lots and lots of snow was just just about ready to come true!......

Happy Valentine's Day from three sweethearts.
We can't believe how fast they are growing and changing.  I am the most blessed mom in the world.

JJ Says Goodbye to those Training Wheels!

Earlier this week JJ told us he was ready for the training wheels to come off!  Today was the day circled on the calendar due to the springlike weather.  He took advantage and did so well.

Daddy took the training wheels off, and helped him balance in order to get going a few times.  He spent some time running in front of him and alongside him too, of course.

It was hardly any time at all before he was ready to pedal on his own, and then take he would just take off and go straight down a few houses.  Then we would get him turned around, and he would come back doing the same thing.

Check out the determination/concentration of my baby 5 year old....

Daddy told me tonight that he got off easy with JJ and I agree.
We were amazed how quickly he picked it up.
Sydney was right there cheering him and Luke too-although he was also begging to have his training wheels taken off as well.
The three of them took off on a ride because he wanted to go around the circle.
I didn't think that was very likely on day 1.
I was very wrong!
He went around that circle three different times before the afternoon was over, and tonight he was asking if we would have time to ride bikes tomorrow.
Way to go sweet buddy!!!
Love you.
