Christmas 2016

I'm so thankful for another precious Christmas with the four of you.
I love the traditions we have built and hope to continue for many, many years.
Having Christmas fall on a Sunday so that we could worship
together on Christmas morning was an extra blessing this year.

We exchange gifts because we love each other.
May we always keep our eyes and our hearts focused on the greatest and most precious gift of all!

John 1:14 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us.  We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

I love you.

Volleyball Season

Sydney, you've had another fun volleyball season.
It was pretty special this time around!
Since you moved up in Division 2 this fall, your Orange Crush team played in a post season tournament..  Of seven teams in the tournament, you made it to the final 2 and to play in the championship game!...

You got to play at a middle school gym in front of a much bigger crowd.
It was a great experience for all 12 of you...
...and you finished as the runner up and also got a trophy!

You had a good season too...and became the
first server of the matches by the 2nd half of the season.
My favorite memories of the season are watching you serve it over
with such confidence and the times you volleyed it back with power.
You have become very consistent with your underhand serve.

Another cool part of your season tied in with another volleyball team-the Lady Tops.
You love going to watch your favorite athletes play , and you girls decided you should invite them to come to your championship game early on a Saturday morning.

Your four favorites came!  It was such a great moment for you girls and you were so very excited.
They cheered for you girls and stayed and talked.

They finished the regular season ranked in the top 20 and just got knocked out of the NCAA, but it was fun to follow them all season.

I'm so glad you had such a fun season sweet girl.  It is so neat watching you play a sport you enjoy.

...Great season #11-until the spring...

Fall & Friends

Sydney, JJ & Luke-
I hope you know (and someday) remember how much fun you have together.
You are silly.  You are fun.  You are very very close.
It was God's choice to make you siblings.
You choose to be best friends.

If I had a button to push, I would push the 'freeze' button right now....
You make each other's lives better and ours too.

You have made fall a blast.

It's been a fall of volleyball and a perfect week at the beach...time for fall field trips, fellowships and festivals...time for projects, golf, cheering on WKU, visits from family and friends and get togethers...time to carve and paint pumpkins...time for some precious nights at home.

Any time I get to spend the day with this girl, it's a blessing!

Daddy got to go on your field trip, JJ.

And I got to go with you Luke!

Halloween was all about Star Wars this year.
You were awesome as Rey, Chewy & Luke.

Even Holly was an Ewok.

I don't let many days go by without reminding you how blessed you are to have each other.
You're busy making some special friendships too.

There is no doubt you have been blessed!

Heading toward Thanksgiving and the holidays-with so much to be thankful for.
Love you all.

Missing Tooth

Something tells me the tooth fairy understands and will still pay this sweet boy a visit tonight!

Monday, September 26, 2016

Looking back over the past two months or so, it's been a time of transition...
from our last summer visit in late July to see family in Georgetown and an afternoon at Evans Orchard,

to family water balloon fights in the backyard, we realized August was coming quickly.

We gathered with some friends for a back to school party at Audrey's.
Waterslides, dunking booths and snow cones-all three
agreed this was one of the best days of the whole summer!

Mid August = always meeting up with Big Red at football fan fest too.
The kids ran in their first ever race-a one mile fun run.
They all did great!

When you start Kindergarten, and you're playing baseball at night and still trying to keep up with all the fun, every now and then some rest is in order!
We celebrated Daddy's birthday,
and a day later had a big surprise for the kids when we picked them up from school.
I don't think they will forget about that too soon.
September means time for football, and JJ and Daddy won't miss any games.
I'm glad they can enjoy watching our team together.

All five of us joined up for the WKU vs. Vandy game too.
Sydney, Luke and I seemed to bring bad luck!....but it was a great night, nonetheless.
A highlight for them was that we got all to go on the field as they welcomed the team out of halftime.

At their request we've tackled the corn maze at Chaney's once again!
AND we enjoyed watching Luke finish up his fall baseball season,
capped off with a trophy after his last game.
We took the kids to their first PGA golf tournament at the
BMW Championship, and it was a hit!
This was our spot for the Saturday and Sunday rounds we attended.

They learned a lot, watched a ton of golf and even got
2 hats from Rickie Fowler in the kids autograph area.
He is their favorite.

All three have had a great start to school.  From practicing sight words to homework, reading and projects, they get it done!  JJ recently finished his ocean habitat research project.

...And now fall is upon us!  Sydney's been practicing for weeks for volleyball season to start, and she did awesome in her first game tonight.  The 4th grade team of teachers showed up to watch and the orange crush got a win!
We are looking forward to a busy and fun, fabulous fall!
