Checking off the List for K

Luke, we are checking off that list of getting you ready for Kindergarten, sweet buddy!

In the matter of just ONE day last week:

we went to BSF for your last time.
For three years, you have gone with me each Wednesday, learning more in our own classes from the gospel of Matthew, the life of Moses and this year Revelation.
BSF is at Living Hope so it has always been a sweet time for you to run in and tell your Daddy hi as we arrive, and grab him for a lunch date after we are done.

got your pre K physical done.
You measured at 47.5 inches (97th percentile) and 49.6 lbs (90th percentile).
Your hearing test and everything else was just fine too.

went to Plano to register you for Kindergarten.

We filled out all the forms and they gave you your very own Plano bag full of goodies.
You were so happy-on the way back out the van, you told me,"Mommy, I am so excited to go to Plano!"  It's a place you know pretty well and I know you will love it.  You are going to do awesome!

I am going to try my very, very hardest to concentrate on being happy for you as you approach your adventure into school.  I love you with all my heart and will miss you and our time so, so much.  There have been times in your life where you got the short end of the stick because you were the youngest and my (our) attention had to be divided often between three babies/toddlers.  However, the past two years have been an blast for the two of us!  You have certainly gained back a lot of that one on one time.

I have enjoyed our talks, walks, time playing games and outside at home and at the park.  You've amassed quite a hot wheels collection as we've made it a special tradition to let you choose one each week when we grocery shop.  We always make lunch with Daddy a part of our week and visit Sydney and JJ at school whenever we can for lunch or parties.  We've worked on numbers, letters, shapes, colors, and more to get you ready for school.

We have tried to do it all.

I will treasure such a precious time and memories with you... forever and ever.

You are an amazing little boy and I'm so very thankful God chose me to be your mom.

And as everyone are ready for Kindergarten!
I'll enjoy a few more months with you first, though :)

JJ's Party

We celebrated JJ's birthday with his friends Sunday afternoon.  He wanted to invite Conner, Caleb, Bryant & Alex to Ralphie's in Glasgow and luckily they were all able to make it.

We had lunch and dessert at home, and then headed to Ralphie's.  It takes about 30 minutes to get there.  Sydney and Luke rode with me---Jeff got the honor of driving the five boys in the party van :)
It is safe to say that he (they) had a great afternoon.  They got to play glow in the dark putt putt, skate, bowl, time freak challenge game, bounce and the finale was laser tag!  He told me the afternoon flew by and I'm sure it did.

Glad you could have a special time with your buddies JJ!  You are lucky to have some great friends at your young age....and they are lucky to have you.  Love you 7 year old.

Happy 7th Birthday JJ!!!

Happy 7th Birthday JJ!

I know that you are going to have a great birthday!
At 7, you love basketball, Star Wars, Mickey and FOOD.
You are also excited to start golf lessons later this month.
Conner is still your best bud and you all are very sweet friends.

Last week you lost one of your front teeth, making that your third baby tooth gone.
You are growing and changing so quickly but still Mommy's sweet little boy.

You have done so well at school this year and I'm proud of how much your teacher brags on you and has worked and given you special chances to build your confidence.  You are a good reader and lead your class in AR points this year.  Math is a particular strength and we continue to be amazed at the words you can spell.
You are going to rock it in 2nd grade!!!!

We are truly blessed that you are a part of our family and you are the perfect
middle child-you see that as a positive thing and so do we.
You are a wonderful friend to Sydney and the best big brother to Luke.
We love you JJ-happy, happy birthday!

Easter and more...

We enjoyed a beautiful Easter weekend at home this year.
Easter is a very special time at our house as we celebrate our risen Savior.

Someone at our house is getting very close to becoming training wheel free.  He and Daddy have been working and just needs a bit more practice and confidence, and he is going to take
off totally on his own.....can't wait!

Sydney is having a great volleyball season.
We can't believe how much she has learned in just a few months.
Saturday, she was awarded the "hustle ball" for her play during their game.  That was special to her.
JJ has been playing basketball, watching basketball and counting the days til his 7th birthday!
He always adds fun and creativity to our days.

The kids are all three at a wonderful stage and bring us much laughter and smiles.....

Sydney, I am so proud of you and the young lady God is molding you to be.

Your Daddy and I have seen so much growth and maturity this year.  You've had some pretty significant adjustments to make in the past few months and you are showing maturity at home, school, your sport and especially at church and in your walk.

You have also shown me how mature you are when you are faced with change and disappointment and have taught me more than a thing or two about that.  In many ways you are still an eight year old little girl, but in others you are wise well, well beyond your years.

As I was looking through a stack of school take home papers one day recently, I found this on one of your activities.
It was a simple answer, but it reveals one sweet snapshot of your heart.
I'm not even positive you answered the question the way it was intended, but it was beautiful.

I have experienced no greater joy as a mom than seeing you ask
Jesus in your heart last summer and now having the chance to witness
the evidence of the Spirit in your life.
It is my prayer that your brothers will also hear his voice in the years to come.

I love you so much!
