Looking back over the past two months or so, it's been a time of transition...
from our last summer visit in late July to see family in Georgetown and an afternoon at Evans Orchard,

to family water balloon fights in the backyard, we realized August was coming quickly.

We gathered with some friends for a back to school party at Audrey's.
Waterslides, dunking booths and snow cones-all three
agreed this was one of the best days of the whole summer!

Mid August = always meeting up with Big Red at football fan fest too.
The kids ran in their first ever race-a one mile fun run.
They all did great!

When you start Kindergarten, and you're playing baseball at night and still trying to keep up with all the fun, every now and then some rest is in order!
We celebrated Daddy's birthday,
and a day later had a big surprise for the kids when we picked them up from school.
I don't think they will forget about that too soon.
September means time for football, and JJ and Daddy won't miss any games.
I'm glad they can enjoy watching our team together.

All five of us joined up for the WKU vs. Vandy game too.
Sydney, Luke and I seemed to bring bad luck!....but it was a great night, nonetheless.
A highlight for them was that we got all to go on the field as they welcomed the team out of halftime.

At their request we've tackled the corn maze at Chaney's once again!
AND we enjoyed watching Luke finish up his fall baseball season,
capped off with a trophy after his last game.
We took the kids to their first PGA golf tournament at the
BMW Championship, and it was a hit!
This was our spot for the Saturday and Sunday rounds we attended.

They learned a lot, watched a ton of golf and even got
2 hats from Rickie Fowler in the kids autograph area.
He is their favorite.

All three have had a great start to school.  From practicing sight words to homework, reading and projects, they get it done!  JJ recently finished his ocean habitat research project.

...And now fall is upon us!  Sydney's been practicing for weeks for volleyball season to start, and she did awesome in her first game tonight.  The 4th grade team of teachers showed up to watch and the orange crush got a win!
We are looking forward to a busy and fun, fabulous fall!

Luke's Season with the River Dogs

Luke has been playing his 3rd season of division 1 baseball, this time with the River Dogs.
It is so special to watch him
This season he was so excited to have his own baseball bag and helmet.
He won the game ball at their very first game when
he got two hits and made a great catch off the bounce at third base.

He really enjoyed having family come to watch him play during the season.

Luke-You are a great hitter and you are SUPER FAST!

AND, you are not the typical five year old out playing in the dirt -you really enjoy the game.
One of your favorite things is sliding into home plate (or another base).
It doesn't matter to you if being out is a threat or not...sliding is just more fun!

Success brings a huge smile to your face.

You did a great job as a River Dog Lukey!
It's a real blessing to watch you get to do something you enjoy.

Love you #7.

Golf Academy

All three of the kids have taken more interest in golf over the past few months.  Sydney and JJ have done a few lessons, and Sydney had the opportunity to do a golf academy for five Monday nights in late July & into August.  They met for two hours and worked on form, chipping, putting, and would always spend the last part of the time playing a few holes.

She did really well and is off to a great start.
